A World of Warcraft player channeled their inner mage as they donned a handmade cosplay of the popular character Jaina Proudmoore and shared an image of their handiwork on social media. The World of Warcraft fan was complimented by their peers for their efforts in bringing the Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras to life through their cosplay.
As a former member of Dalaran's Council of Six, Jaina Proudmoore first appeared in Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos as a Hero unit of the Human Alliance campaign and a master of Frost magic. In World of Warcraft and subsequent expansions, Jaina's role changed from the ruler of the former city of Theramore to eventually the Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras in Battle for Azeroth, a position that her family held for generations. Though Jaina's life has been fraught with tragedy and pain since the fall of Theramore, her loyalty to the Alliance and support from allies like Thrall and Anduin Wrynn keep her anchored to reality. Since the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Jaina has been voiced by Laura Bailey.

Days after the launch of World of Warcraft: The War Within, the expansion's upcoming Trading Post offerings will give players more cosmetics to earn.
Given Jaina's status within World of Warcraft as a steadfast Frost Mage, she has been the subject of various cosplays across the years. A Reddit user named MariMiyako donned the blue and white robes of Jaina Proudmoore and shared the finished product on the r/wow subreddit. With help from a professional photographer named @dream.hold on social media, MariMiyako's outfit was based on Jaina's appearance since Battle for Azeroth. The picture was shot on a beach, with MariMiyako standing on some rocks. While Jaina's previous outfits have been white and violet, her current iteration is a reflection of her allegiance to the Alliance and a subtle nod to Kul Tiras' maritime origins. In the cosplay, MariMiyako wore a white corset with gold trim, with black gloves covered in a lightweight foam that was painted a rustic gold.
Jaina's white hair was made via a braided wig, which included small blonde streaks on the left side. The rest of the robe had two tones of blue and a hood that MariMiyako used as a face cover. Jaina's anchor-shaped necklace was featured in the World of Warcraft cosplay. A magic rune was edited on the left side that symbolized Jaina's affinity as a Frost mage.
For her work, other World of Warcraft players praised MariMiyako for her attention to detail. Although Jaina herself briefly appeared in The War Within expansion, it remains to be seen what the Lord Admiral's role in the ongoing Worldsoul Saga will be.
